If Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater is back, does this mean Ska will get a revival too? Please…?
Coinciding with the Birdman’s 52 birthday, Activision and Vicarious Visions announced a complete remaster of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on September 4. The remaster is built from the ground up with every pro skater, level, and trick rendered in beautiful 4K.
It is incredible seeing the comparison footage within the announcement trailer. It really shows how far gaming has come since the humble days of the original PlayStation. These titles bridged a generation of gamers and skaters showing them what was possible when the two joined together. Kind of like an authority defying gamer/skater sandwich with engaging gameplay, killer soundtracks, and attention to detail only possible with collaboration from the most influential skateboarding legend of all time, Tony Hawk himself.
Pricing and Editions
The base game is set at $39.99 with a Digital Deluxe Edition running at $49.99 which includes access to “The Ripper” skater from Powell-Peralta, unique retro outfits for Tony Hawk, Steve Caballero, and Rodney Mullen and additional retro content for the Create-A-Skater mode.
For the devoted fan and skating enthusiast, there is also a Collector’s Edition of the game available that includes all content found in the Digital Deluxe Edition as well as a Limited Edition Full-size Birdhouse skateboard deck which runs at $99.99. This is honestly one of the coolest Collector’s Editions I’ve seen. Especially considering it has an actual use aside from just looking sick hung up on your wall.
Pre-orders of the game include the Warehouse demo, giving players a taste of the iconic level in its remastered glory. The demo itself isn’t available yet, so be on the lookout for more info from the official Twitter.
